325 East Third Avenue Permanent Supportive Housing Property
RurAL CAP developed a housing project at 325 East Third Avenue in Anchorage. It include 20 units of permanent supportive housing for homeless individuals experiencing mental and physical disabilities. This housing complex helps individuals move to economic independence by addressing the frequent interrelated problems of homelessness, substance abuse and addiction, and mental illness, and increases access to affordable housing for low-income individuals. The tenants receive services built upon the principles of self-advocacy and skill building as pathways to permanent housing and community reintegration.
The 325 E. 3rd Avenue property waitlist is open and we are accepting housing applications. Applicants with priority on the Anchorage Coordinated Entry List will receive a preference for housing units. The 14,696 square foot facility includes:
- Six star energy including solar panels
- 20 studio apartments
- Ground floor office space
- Community outdoor space
- Safety features such as safety cameras, centralized front desk, and secure front access
- Updated landscaping
Tenants will have access to the following operational and supportive services includes:
- Year-round 24/7 staffing for operations
- Case management
- Substance abuse/mental health assessments and therapeutic services
- Crisis intervention services
- Employment services
- Janitorial, maintenance, and property management staffing
The proposed site is centrally located in downtown Anchorage, making community integration activities reasonably accessible. The area is conducive to walking and bike-friendly for tenants and is in a mixed residential and commercial area. Amenities such as the Anchorage People Mover Transit Center (public transportation center) are close to the site.
