RurAL CAP continues to host an expert solid waste liaison, Ted Jacobson, through funding provided by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Senior Services America, Inc.

The liaison provides solid waste management technical assistance to rural communities through training, site visits, hands-on demonstrations, and remote contact.

Resources are provided for dump management activities, collaborating with donors for funding and technical assistance on solid waste management, recycling, and back haul.

YKCARurAL CAP completed a three year grant program in partnership with the Yukon Kuskokwim Coastal Association in June of 2016.

Through the CIAP grant funded program, 31 city and tribal governments were funded to improve their landfill sites through infrastructure improvement, implementing collection systems, completing studies and more.
